Every year for Father’s Day, I help the kids make a hand print craft… something that marks the passage of time and shows us how small they were and how big they’ve become. One of my favorite crafts is a hand printed t-shirt. My husband is a t-shirt and jeans guy. He always wears his father’s day Ts with pride.
Make your own! It’s fast and simple.
1. Get a plain t-shirt (usually $3.50 or so at places like JoAnn Fabrics and Michael’s Crafts).
2. Pick up some fabric paint in fun colors.
3. Dip your children’s hands (and/or feet) into the paint and then have them leave their prints behind on the shirt. I wish I had used all silver for the hand prints but I let the kiddos pick the colors.
6. Present it to dad wrapped in newspaper that the kiddos have decorated especially for him.
My husband has a couple of these. This year we will be adding another since this is our Finale’s first Father’s Day with Daddy : )
Happy Father’s Day!
